Ivan Ljubicic has set a match with James Blake from America at the Thailand Open 2006. In the seminals, Croatian won a match against Paradorn Scrichapan with a result 6-3 6-2. It took him only one hour and seventeen minutes to beat him.

Paradorn Srichaphan from Thailand was very disappointed after his defeat; he said that this was not his day, and his best game, and that the Ljubicic was a worthy opponent.  Ljubicic, who is a top-seeded player in this tournament, will face off American favorite James Blake. Blake, in semifinals, defeated Marat Safin from Russia in a three-set match.The result was 3-6 6-4 7-6(3). Safin, who had just recovered from his injury, and was five months out of the game, said it was a very difficult match for him. Blake said that he is a very talented player, and wishes Safin all the best in the following season, and hopes that his confidence would come back quickly. As far as doubles go, brothers Andy and Jamie Murray from the United Kingdom, who just started playing together, reached their first ATP doubles final. They won a match against Chris Haggard from South Africa and Jordan Kerr from Australia 7-6(2) 6-4. In the finals, they will face top seed Jonathan Erlich and Andy Ram of Israel.

James Blake to won a title at Thailand Open 2006

James-BlakeAmerican James Blake, who was seeded third, won the Thailand Open 2006, and his fourth ATP title. Next, to the title, he won a check with 555,000 USD. After the match, he said that his opinion is that he didn’t play so bad in the finals and that his opponent was so good, and hard to beat. This was his first lose from Blake in five meetings. Blake received 35 ATP Race points, and a chance to qualify for the Master Cup in Shanghai. In doubles matches, tandem from Israel, who had won this tournament in 2003 and were runner-up in 2005, defeated young brothers Jamie and Andy Murray from the UK, in just one hour and seven minutes, by the result of 6-2 2-6 10-4. This was the fourth title for a double from Israel, who previously won Adelaide, Nottingham and New Haven. They said that the experience was on their side against Murray brothers.
