Marion Bartoli Is Back

Marion Bartoli a French tennis star, and a former Wimbledon champion announced that she would be back in court in the March next year, after quitting tennis almost five years ago. Since she quit actively playing tennis, she worked as a commentator in Eurosport, and other televisions, while sometimes playing legends match.  Bartoli, now 33-year-old, announced her news on social network Instagram.  She said that her return is going to be a big challenge, and hopes that she will be ready to come back in March at the Miami Open.

Reasons behind her retirement

Marion-BartoliFormer Wimbledon champion said that the reason for her withdraw from tennis was that her body just couldn’t cope anymore and that she felt the big amount of pain shortly after playing. In 2016 she was in the spotlight for her dramatic weight lose. Bartoli told in an interview that she got infected by the mystery virus during her trip to India. After diagnosis doctor told her she was close to dying, and that the virus triggered an allergic reaction to almost anything, from food to electrics. In that period her hair also started to fall off. In months to come, she started to recover and now believes that she come back is possible, and she is barely waiting to come back and play.

French tennis star with an unorthodox style of playing

Marion Bartoli became famous for her unorthodox style of playing with two hands both in her forehand and backhand, which is attributed to being a fan of Monika Seles when she was growing up. She is known as a strong and aggressive player, who is playing mostly from a baseline. Bartoli started playing tennis when she was six years old, and her first couch was her father, Walter. She won eight WTA titles and three in doubles. Her most important results are a title in 2013 Wimbledon Championships, she was a runner-up in 2007, and semifinal in 2007 Rolan Garros. Her victory at Wimbledon made her only a sixth player in open era history to win a title without losing a set.
